NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Truckload carrier Nussbaum Transportation said it will retrofit its entire fleet with wheel covers from by FlowBelow Aero Inc.
The companies made the announcement during the Technology & Maintenance Council’s annual conference here.
Phil Braker, vice president of operations at Nussbaum, said the covers are improving the fuel efficiency of the fleet’s Freightliner Cascadia Evolution trucks.
He noted drivers and technicians like the quick-release attachment system with FlowBelow’s covers, which makes it easier to access the wheels for maintenance.
FlowBelow President Josh Butler said the covers will play a role in helping Nussbaum reach its goal of achieving over 10 mpg across their fleet.
Nussbaum, based in Hudson, Ill., has a fleet of more than 225 trucks and 500 trailers. It serves the automotive, agriculture, steel and construction industries.
