Oil prices fell from a six-month high Thursday to below $61 a barrel following a Federal Reserve report said the U.S. economy may be slow in recovering, Bloomberg reported.

Crude futures fell more than $1.50 to $60.50 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, following Thursday’s six-month closing-price high of $62.04, Bloomberg said.

The Energy Department reported Wednesday that crude oil and gasoline inventories fell last week but distillate stockpiles, which include diesel, rose slightly.
