Old Dominion Freight Line’s Income Rises
Old Dominion Freight Line said Oct. 24 its third-quarter income and revenue increased from a year ago as tonnage rose 9.6%.
Net income rose 17.8% to $60.1 million, or 70 cents per share, from $51 million, or 59 cents, a year ago.
Revenue rose 12% to $616.5 million, the less-than-truckload carrier said.
Total tons per day rose 7.9% for the quarter, CEO David Congdon said in a statement.
“Our results reflect our ongoing ability to win market share and increase revenue despite a period of slow economic growth,” Congdon said.
Old Dominion Freight Line is ranked No. 11 on the Transport Topics Top 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
