Old Dominion Freight Line’s Income Rises 22%

Old Dominion Freight Line said Thursday its second-quarter income and revenue increased from a year ago, as tonnage rose 5.6%.

Net income rose 22% to $58.3 million, or 68 cents per share, from $47.8 million, or 56 cents, a year ago.

Revenue rose 8% to $590.2 million, the less-than-truckload carrier said.

Total tons per day rose 5.6% for the quarter, CEO David Congdon said in a statement.



Old Dominion Freight Line is ranked No. 11 on the Transport Topics Top 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
