Old Dominion’s 3Q Income Rises

Old Dominion Freight Line said its income and revenue jumped, with earnings per share and revenue reaching third-quarter records.

Net income rose to $51 million, or 59 cents per share, from $38.6 million, or 45 cents, a year ago.

Revenue rose 10% to $544.1 million, the less-than-truckload carrier said Thursday.

Total tons rose 6.9% for the quarter, which had one less day than last year’s comparable period, CEO David Congdon said in a statement.

Old Dominion Freight Line is ranked No. 14 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
