Old River Truck Sales acquired three locations along the Interstate 10 corridor in southern Louisiana selling Mack and Volvo brand trucks, bringing its total to six in the region.
Mack Trucks and Volvo Trucks North America are units of Volvo Group.
The facilities are in Lake Charles; St. Rose, which is a New Orleans suburb; and Breaux Bridge, serving the Lafayette area. The acquisition added 92 employees, including 23 service technicians, and more than 115,500 square feet of space.
“The acquisition puts us in a better position to serve Mack customers working in oil production on the Louisiana coast,” Lee White, president of Richland, Mississippi-based Old River, said in a statement.
“This expansion represents an important milestone for our Volvo Trucks customers and our employees,” said White, who in 2001 opened Old River Volvo, Mississippi’s only full-line Volvo Trucks dealer.
Old River also has locations in Laurel, Mississippi, and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. White started the company in 1982 as a parts and service operation in Woodville, Mississippi, and expanded to the southern part of the state and into Louisiana, the company said.
