Omnitracs Debuts Workforce Tracking App
A new smart phone application from Omnitracs allows companies to track drivers’ movements, helping employees be “safer and more productive,” according to the technology company.
Omnitracs Tracking can pinpoint a driver’s location in real time using the phone’s GPS, street maps and satellites. The app also can monitor a driver’s speed and captures performance data for the company.
Fleet managers can access a driver’s location and speed through a website, allowing them to give real-time updates to customers, according to Omnitracs.
“Every transportation company with a mobile workforce wants to know the location and key behaviors of their drivers,” Chief Technology Officer Dan Speicher said in a statement.
“Omnitracs Tracking powered by Roadnet enables companies that have not adopted a fully featured mobile fleet-management solution to utilize their existing smart devices in order to track locations of mobile workers, improving safety, productivity and customer satisfaction,” Speicher said.
The app also allows companies to predefine maximum speed allowed, GPS gap, over road speed and stationary position time limits.
“Our newest basic tracking application will give companies the tools they need to better manage their mobile workforce and take fast, appropriate action to improve safety and productivity,” Speicher said.
