Representatives of Overnite Transportation Co. and the Teamsters will meet in Chicago to discuss changes in pay and benefits implemented by the company on Jan. 1.
The meeting, scheduled for Feb. 9 and 10, is the first since the union launched a strike against the Richmond, Va.-based carrier on Oct. 24 over alleged unfair labor practices.
Overnite filed a lawsuit Jan. 24 in which it accused Teamsters President James P. Hoffa and other union officials of racketeering offenses in connection with shootings and other violence aimed at company employees (1-31, p. 1).
