Pacer Adds Another Acquisition

Pacer International of Lafayette, Calif., continues its acquisition-led expansion with the purchase of Keystone Terminals of Rutherford, N.J.

Keystone is one of the nation’s oldest intermodal marketing companies, established in 1964. It is the sixth company to be acquired by Pacer in the last 16 months.

Last month, Pacer and its equity partner, Apollo Management, a New York-based investment firm, agreed to acquire the North American stacktrain unit of APL from Neptune Orient Lines. Previous acquisitions included Manufacturers Consolidation Service of Memphis, Tenn., and Cross Con Terminals of Chicago.
