Transportation and third-party logistics firm Pacer International said Daniel Avramovich will become its new chief executive officer, effective close of business Tuesday.
Avramovich, who has been the company’s chief operating officer since June, will replace outgoing CEO Michael Uremovich, who will retire Tuesday, Pacer said in a statement. Avramovich also will be appointed chairman,
Avramovich has undertaken day-to-day leadership of the company’s retail and wholesale intermodal service units, as well as its highway brokerage, supply chain, and warehousing service units. He joined the company in June 2008 as its intermodal services president.
Pacer International, which runs rail intermodal, less-than-truckload and warehousing operations, is ranked No. 16 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
