Pacer, Trailer Bridge Set New Service

Pacer Stacktrain and Trailer Bridge Inc. said Tuesday they have partnered to move 53-foot containers on an integrated, intermodal basis between the United States and Puerto Rico.

Pacer, which operates a double-stack rail network, is a division of freight transportation and logistics company Pacer International.

Trailer Bridge operates ships sailing between Jacksonville, Fla., and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The companies chose Tuesday to announce the service in part because it is National Maritime Day, which has been observed on May 22 since 1933.

Pacer is ranked No. 18 the Transport Topics 100 list of U.S. and Canadian for-hire trucking companies.
