Truckload carrier P.A.M. Transportation Services said it lost $840,000, or 8 cents a share, in the fourth quarter, compared with net income of $4.3 million, or 41 cents, a year earlier.
Operating revenue excluding fuel surcharges dipped to $85 million, from $85.3 million a year earlier, said late Thursday.
For the full year, P.A.M. earned $2.7 million, or 26 cents per share, down from $18 million, or $1.74 per share, the previous year.
P.A.M. President Robert Weaver cited a “difficult operating environment” in the fourth quarter and full year.
P.A.M. is ranked No. 65 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
