Component supplier Pana-Pacific has partnered with Spartan Radar to distribute the company’s radar-based Hoplo advanced collision warning system to commercial vehicle manufacturers.
The Hoplo safety system is designed to identify and report multiple objects to provide drivers with greater situational awareness.
Spartan said its software provides more reliable object detection while minimizing “nuisance” alerts to help gain the confidence of drivers using the safety system.
“Over the past year, we’ve seen a huge increase in the number of requests for radar, whether to help make drivers’ jobs easier or to help fleets be safer,” Pana-Pacific CEO Joseph Saoud said in the Feb. 27 joint announcement.
Spartan Radar CEO Matt Markel added that Pana-Pacific “shares our vision of delivering excellent products with cutting-edge radar technology to commercial fleets.”
Hoplo is designed to integrate with various vehicle types across numerous duty cycles and use cases.
Pana-Pacific’s customer base includes major manufacturers of heavy- and medium-duty trucks and other equipment, such as Paccar Inc., Daimler Truck North America, Navistar Inc., Volvo Group, Mack Trucks, Hino, John Deere, Caterpillar, Case New Holland, Agco, Komatsu, Bobcat and Bühler.
