Dex Heavy Duty Parts, a Volvo Group subsidiary that supplies recycled, renovated and surplus truck parts, has opened a facility in Advance, North Carolina.
The business previously operated out of a location in Floyd, Virginia.
Volvo Group said it invested $2.6 million into renovating the 210,000-square-foot Dex building, a former textile storage facility.
“Dex Heavy Duty Parts takes old trucks and recycles them — refurbishing some parts for resale and recycling others for reuse — which is not only a natural extension of our business but perfectly exemplifies our core value of care for the environment,” Dennis Slagle, president of Volvo Group Trucks Sales North America, said in a statement.
Dex has recycled more than 3 million pounds of material since 2012, said Darin Redmon, director of operations.
