PeopleNet has introduced 4G LTE network coverage to its ConnectedFleet platform to bring faster, more reliable service to fleets operating in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
With the introduction of LTE coverage, PeopleNet customers can take advantage of faster connection speeds to better track their drivers, devices and equipment. Fleets can also access information more efficiently in geographical areas that previously had little to no coverage, the company said.
LTE coverage is available to fleets using PeopleNet’s Mobile Gateway device.
“Offering LTE connectivity gives organizations the ability to collect data from vehicles, drivers, and devices faster and more reliably than ever before,” said Eric Witty, vice president of product management for PeopleNet. “This enhanced connectivity can enable quicker decision making when a driver is on duty and also provides more options to drivers who want to stay connected and communicate with family during off-duty time."
PeopleNet, which is part of Trimble, also said it will continue to provide reporting on wireless network metrics, such as minute-by-minute connectivity, coverage depth and latency for all trucks in a fleet.
