Peterbilt Motors Co. said that it delivered the U.S. House of Representatives its first hybrid truck Wednesday.

The truck, a Model 330, will carry furniture and office equipment for the House of Representatives, Peterbilt said. It was delivered to Daniel beard, the chief administrative officer for the House.

Beard said in a Peterbilt statement that the House is replacing its aging vehicle fleet with low-emissions trucks, such as hybrids.

The Model 330 provides a 30% increase in fuel efficiency over a standard truck, while reducing emissions of hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides, Peterbilt said in the statement.
