PNV, Truckersco-op Create Mutual Pact for Net Access

Two companies whose livelihood depends largely on trucker access to the Internet struck a deal that could help both of their causes.

PNV Inc. of Coral Springs, Fla., will provide discounted access to Internet, telephone and cable television services at 268 truck stops in 41 states to members of TruckersCo-op.com.

PNV has between 25,000 and 35,000 monthly members and about 9,000 people a month signed up for its Internet service, said Brian McCaul, marketing director at the company.

The deal allows Truckersco-op members to drive up to a parking spot that has PNV outlets and get access through the Internet to discounts for fuel, lodging, parts, repairs and insurance, which are offered on Truckersco-op’s Web site. They also can watch cable television or talk on the telephone at local phone rates, from the comfort of their cabs.
