The Port of Long Beach celebrated the recent opening of a new electric truck charging station on Jan. 22, with officials calling the facility the “largest port-based truck charging depot in the country.”

The facility, which is called FM Harbor and is sponsored by Forum Mobility, is now operational and features the ability to charge up to 44 EV trucks simultaneously. It was hailed with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and speeches. Trucking, freight and port leaders attended the event, as did the chair of the California Air Resources Board, Liane Randolph.

Long Beach Mayor Rex Richardson, Forum Mobility CEO Matt LeDucq, harbor commission President Bonnie Lowenthal and POLB CEO Mario Cordero were among those who spoke during the celebration.
