Rand McNally has introduced a dashboard device that combines truck navigation with an onboard SiriusXM radio, voice assistance and a built-in dash camera.
The OverDryve 8 Pro, the latest product in Rand McNally’s line of truck GPS devices, provides drivers with in-cab entertainment in addition to the company’s driving and business tools.
“We understand the amount of time professional drivers spend in their trucks, so OverDryve 8 Pro brings together not only valuable tools to help get the job done, but also a fully loaded entertainment solution that can be used to watch movies, listen to SiriusXM, access social media and check e-mail,” Rand McNally CEO Stephen Fletcher said in the announcement.
The device comes with a built-in SiriusXM receiver.
The product’s voice assistance feature enables drivers to call and text hands free. All audio from the device can be played through a truck cab’s speakers.
The OverDryve 8 Pro comes preloaded with a driver logbook app, which customers can pair with Rand McNally’s ELD 50 or DC 200 plug-in electronic logging devices to comply with the upcoming federal ELD mandate, which goes into effect Dec. 18. The ELD 50 and DC 200 are sold separately and require a service plan.
The device features an 8-inch, high-resolution screen and comes with a magnetic mount.
