Reinhart Named Virginia Port Authority Executive Director

The Virginia Port Authority Board selected John Reinhart as its new executive director, Gov. Bob McDonnell said in a statement Oct. 31.

Reinhart comes from Maersk Line Limited, where he served as president. He also was the company’s CEO from 2000 to 2004. Maersk Line Ltd. provides transportation, ship management and maritime technical services to government and commercial customers. Maersk is headquartered in Norfolk, Va.

McDonnell (R) said, “John’s vast experience in the maritime industry, and his long-standing involvement in the Hampton Roads community, make him ideally suited to lead the Virginia Port Authority.”

The Port of Virginia is the third largest on the East Coast.
