Rising Sun Systems Acquires Freight Brokerage Firm

Private holding company Rising Sun Systems said Thursday it has acquired freight broker Network FOB, Naples, Fla., which operates a network of independent freight agents across the U.S. and Canada. Terms were not disclosed.

Network FOB, founded by Tim Taylor in 1987, has more than 100 agents throughout the country providing a range of transportation and logistics services including truckload, less than truckload and intermodal shipping.

“By working with Rising Sun Systems, Network FOB takes its operations to the next level, allowing it to expand its services across the country and internationally,” Taylor said.

“This is exactly the type of company that will benefit from a partnership with Rising Sun, as we can provide the resources and innovative strategies to help Network FOB achieve greater market share and increase its value,” Jim Handoush, Rising Sun’s CEO, said in a statement.
