Roadrunner Transportation Systems Inc. has completed the acquisition of logistics company Active Aero Group from Aero’s parent company, Platinum Equity, for about $115 million.
Active Aero generated revenues of about $265 million in the 12 months ended June 30, according to Roadrunner.
The deal was announced in early August and funded with borrowings under Roadrunner’s credit facility, according to the company.
Aero provides logistics services predominantly in the United States and Mexico to customers with time-critical or sensitive freight.
Platinum acquired Aero in 2011 from a group of investors that kept a minority ownership position, according to the private equity firm.
Roadrunner ranks No. 21 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
