Roadrunner’s 3Q Net Income Improves
Roadrunner Transportation Systems’ third-quarter income rose sharply, led by strong truckload and less-than-truckload operations.
Net income rose to $9.9 million, or 31 cents a share, from $7.2 million, or 23 cents, a year ago.
Revenue jumped 23.4% to $279.2 million, Roadrunner said late Wednesday. Operating income gained 40.7% to $18 million.
LTL operating income rose 7.6% to $10 million, with revenue rising 4.9% to $132.5 million.
Truckload operating income rose 29.6% to $7.3 million, while revenue rose 56.6% to $124.2 million.
Its transportation management solutions segment’s operating income rose to $2.7 million from $2.4 million, with revenue rising 10.4% to $24 million. Its acquisition of Capital Transportation Logistics added $1.6 million in revenue.
