Rush Acquires West Texas Peterbilt

Rush Enterprises said it has acquired West Texas Peterbilt, a dealership with five locations in Texas, for $25 million.

The purchase by San Antonio-based Rush will extend the company’s reach to the entire state, Rush said in a statement.

Rush, which operates 70 locations in 14 states, is the only major publicly traded U.S. truck dealership, specializing in Peterbilt and Navistar Class 8 tractors.

The purchase includes dealerships in Amarillo, Lubbock and Odessa, Texas that offer Peterbilt trucks, parts and service; a parts and service facility in Dalhart, Texas; and a parts facility in Hereford, Texas.

All will operate in their current locations as Rush Truck Centers, the company said.

“The acquisition of West Texas Peterbilt expands the company’s representation of Peterbilt in Texas to include the entire state,” the company said.
