Ryder System launched a preventive maintenance program for its pre-owned vehicles, the Miami-based company said. Under the program, customers can finance or prepay for their selected preventive maintenance plan when they purchase a pre-owned vehicle, the company said.

“Recent customer interactions, market research and conversations with private fleet owners and other pre-owned vehicle sales prospects have shown that maintenance services packaged with convenient financing options are in great demand as a value-added service,” Dennis Cooke, president of Global Fleet Management Solutions, said in a statement.

The maintenance packages range from one to three years at the time of vehicle purchase, Ryder said. The pre-owned vehicle can be scheduled for up to four preventive maintenance appointments a year, giving the customer access to Ryder’s network of 800 service facilities and 5,900 certified technicians, the company added.

Ryder Certified pre-owned vehicles have been owned and maintained solely by Ryder for their entire operating life and come with a 30-day warranty and a complete vehicle maintenance history report.

According to the company, Ryder has the largest retail network of pre-owned vehicles for sale in North America with 59 locations, selling more than 18,000 vehicles a year.

Ryder Supply Chain Solutions ranks No. 13 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in North America.
