Ryder's Swienton Explains Program to Increase Safety

When Gregory T. Swienton was hired as president of Ryder

ystem in 1999, he made safety a top priority of the company while undertaking an ambitious corporate restructuring.

In recognition of Swienton’s dedication to safety, the National Safety Council awarded the Ryder chairman its 2002 Green Cross for Safety Medal.



“By helping companies reduce injuries, injury-related absences and vehicle collisions, Ryder is able to help customers realize substantial savings in recruitment, training, temporary personnel, legal fees, insurance and regulatory compliance,” Swienton said.
