Sabre Technology Solutions is moving into the medium-sized carrier software applications market now dominated by McLeod Software and Innovative Computing Corp.
"We’ve always done well with large carriers. Now, we are trying to trickle down to mid-size and smaller carriers," said George A. Abernathy III, the company’s general manager.
The company plans to unveil a new yield management software that will predict how many trucks a carrier will need up to five days in advance, using at least a year’s worth of historical data.
Carriers experienced a 10% increase in trucking productivity each day during testing last fall, Abernathy said.
The product was announced in March during the Truckload Carriers Association meeting in Las Vegas.
Sabre Technology provides a variety of fleet management software. It is a division of the Sabre Group, a three-year-old spinoff of American Airlines’ reservation system.
