Third-party logistics firm Saddle Creek Corp. said it acquired logistics firm ServiceCraft Logistics, Buena Park, Calif.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“We see this as a great opportunity for continued growth, both in new markets and in new industries,” Cliff Otto, president of Saddle Creek, said in a statement.
The deal allows Saddle Creek to offer regional transportation in the California markets in addition to the company’s existing nationwide transportation brokerage business, the company said.
The acquisition adds ServiceCraft’s truck-rail intermodal services to Saddle Creek’s existing transportation services, which include truckload, less-than-truckload and dedicated carriage, according to the company.
The sale also adds eight warehouse locations to Saddle Creek’s network. New facilities are located throughout northern and southern California and the Dallas/Fort Worth area in Texas. The addition of ServiceCraft boosted Saddle Creek’s total managed warehouse square footage by about 20%, the company said.
