Saddle Creek Logistics Services has announced the expansion of its omnichannel fulfillment operations in Lexington, Ky., to accommodate growth with existing customers as well as new business demand, according to a press release.
Initially, Saddle Creek will lease 160,000 square feet of space with the option to expand to 350,000. The new location will be the third-party logistics provider’s 44th U.S. facility and second in Lexington. Each integrated logistics facility offers a mix of warehousing, omnichannel fulfillment, transportation and packaging services.
The Lexington location will offer easy access to strategic points and interstates — Interstates 64 and 75 — in the company’s nationwide network, offering quicker transit and reduced freight cost to customers shipping directly to consumers as well as retailers.
“Lexington is a prime location for growing our omnichannel fulfillment business,” said Perry Belcastro, Saddle Creek vice president of fulfillment services. “We are able to leverage our existing expertise and talent to provide a solid foundation for our expansion, so we can ensure service excellence right out of the gate.”
The facility will be available for occupancy July 1.
