Saia’s 1Q Loss Narrows
Saia Inc. said Thursday its first-quarter loss narrowed to $3.2 million, or 21 cents a share, from a loss of $6.3 million, or 47 cents a year ago.
Its operating loss was $2.1 million, compared with an operating loss of $7.5 million last year. Revenue rose% to $212.2 million.
Tonnage at its Saia Motor Freight Line less-than-truckload unit rose 2.8% from a year ago.
Saia is ranked No. 25 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
