San Francisco Bay Area Truck Tolls to Rise Again

Multi-axle vehicles including heavy-duty trucks will be paying higher tolls to cross San Francisco area bridges starting July 1, the Vallejo (Calif.) Times Herald reported.

The move is the phase of the Bay Area’s two-phase toll increases that were set in 2010, the paper said.

Last year, the Bay Area Toll Authority boosted toll rates for truckers to $18 for a five-axle truck.

Starting this July, trucks with three or more axles will be pay at $5 times the number of axles, the paper reported, boosting a comparable toll to $25.

It will be even more expensive for trucks to cross the Golden Gate Bridge where it will be $6 times the number of axles, with a $5-per-axle rate for FasTrak customers, the Times Herald said.
