Schneider Acquires Glass Business

Schneider National of Green Bay, Wis., said it will acquire the assets of A.J. Metler’s flat glass business for an undisclosed amount.

Metler, based in Knoxville, Tenn., employs 300 drivers, maintenance and office workers and will become part of Schneider in April, Schneider said.

John Lanigan, president of Schneider’s Transportation Sector, said the addition of Metler will give the company access to new customers and improve service to existing customers.
