Schneider National Taps New Chief for Trucking

Schneider National Inc. is putting Christopher B. Lofgren, its chief technology and logistics officer, in charge of its North American trucking operations.

The appointment of Lofgren as chief operating officer fills a vacancy created by John P. Lanigan Jr., who left the company to become president of Logistics.com on March 7 ("Online Logistics Firm Hires Big Gun from Schneider ," 3-13, p. 5).

It also signals recognition of the growing importance of logistics in Schneider’s business portfolio and positions the company to take advantage of opportunities in the world of electronic commerce, company officials said.
