SEA Electric announced durability testing for its Class 6 SV6 E stripped chassis package is scheduled to begin in the third quarter, and volume assembly to begin in first quarter of 2023.

Conditional orders currently are being taken, the Los Angeles-based company reported.

At the heart of the Class 6 SV6 EV is the proprietary SEA-Drive power-system. Its medium-voltage architecture has no requirement for active thermal management of batteries

The 138-kiloWatt hour battery pack for the platform delivers what the company said is a class-leading unladen range of up to 170 miles, while also capable of being configured for fast charging at up to 80 kW.

Further announcements regarding Classes 3-5 SEA SV stripped chassis models will be made in due course, the company noted. — Transport Topics
