Shift Freight Appoints New President
Less-than-truckload carrier Shift Freight said it has appointed Joe Bartone president of the Santa Fe Springs, California-based firm.
Most recently, Bartone was with Con-way Freight as head of West Coast sales.
“The things we have planned for the future are going to change the game for LTL. We have an extraordinarily strong team, and the strategic depth of our customer relationships is going to leave lower-service carriers reeling,” Bartone said in a statement.
“We see a gap of customer-centric LTL transportation in this industry, which our team at Shift has completely redefined in a way that our competitors just can’t match,” he added.
The company said in its first year it expanded service to more than 80% of the country and in the third quarter had an on-time delivery percentage of 99%.
“Our team has done an incredible job getting us to where we are today, but we’re now on a new chapter for our company. There are big things ahead,” Shift Vice President Tommy Skinner said.
