Shippers Eye W. Coast Port Talks

An official with the National Industrial Transportation League said there has been little progress made on a new contract between longshoremen and terminal operators at West Coast ports.

"We understand there hasn't been substantive discussions yet," said Peter Gatti, vice president of international relations for NIT League.

The contract between the International Longshore and Warehouse Union and terminal operators in the Pacific Maritime Association expires July 1.
