Shippers Warehouse to Relocate to Expanded Texas Headquarters
Logistics firm Shippers Warehouse is moving its headquarters to Hutchins, Texas.
The trucking and freight-handling firm will relocate from southern Dallas to a building in the Prime Pointe industrial park near Interstate 45.
Shippers Warehouse will be in a 556,000-square-foot warehouse and office building to be constructed next to a 600,000-square-foot industrial building that opened last year.
Duke Realty is developing both buildings on West Wintergreen Road.
"Soon after we took possession of Prime Pointe 1005, we started talking to Duke Realty about a second building that would provide us with additional rail-served distribution space and could serve as our corporate headquarters," Shippers Warehouse CEO Ken Johnson said in a statement.
Shippers Warehouse's headquarters has been in a building near Big Town Boulevard and U.S. Highway 80 in far east Dallas.
The company has been in business over a century and has operations in Texas, Illinois, California and Georgia. It has more than 5,000,000 square feet of distribution space in 11 nationwide facilities.
Prime Pointe is a 3,000-acre, master-planned industrial park in Hutchins near the Union Pacific Railway's intermodal center.
Al Leon and Larry Leon of Logistics Realty negotiated the lease with Duke Realty's Matt Hyman.
"This additional activity at Prime Pointe is very exciting because it helps reinforce the benefits this location offers businesses in terms of immediate highway and rail access, a business-friendly environment and a robust workforce," said Mike Rader, president of Prime Rail Interests, which is developing the industrial park.
