Silver Eagle Fleet Soars No More

Silver Eagle Co., a unionized less-than-truckload carrier, closed its doors March 16, ending 70 years of service in the Pacific Northwest.

The Portland, Ore., trucking company will liquidate its assets over the next several months to satisfy claims by creditors, company officials said.

Silver Eagle began as a produce hauler in 1930 and a few years later initiated tank truck service. Since the mid-1950s, the company has specialized in general freight hauling.
