Snow Storm Closes 180-Mile Stretch of I-40 in Arizona

Arizona authorities closed a 180-mile stretch of Interstate 40 Sunday after a big snow storm hit the state, news services reported.

The closure stretched roughly from Kingman in western Arizona to eastward to Winslow, including the city of Flagstaff, CNN reported, citing the Arizona Highway Patrol.

As of Sunday night, both I-40 and State Route 180 remained closed, the Arizona Republic newspaper reported on its website.

The storm, which packed high winds, was expected to last into Monday, the paper reported. Flagstaff got about two feet of snow.
