Spireon Reports Higher Revenue, Shipments

Asset-tracking provider Spireon Inc. said its first-quarter revenue increased from a year ago.

The company said revenue rose by double digits in the first quarter from the same period last year.

Spireon said it shipped more than twice as many devices compared with last year and has shipped 3 million devices as of the quarter.

The company said it has more than doubled its total transportation subscribers compared with a year ago.

Demand for its newest embedded device, Talon, has been above expectations, the company said, adding that it has shipped more than 250,000 of the units within the first 90-days of its release.
