Steve O’Kane to Retire at A. Duie Pyle
A. Duie Pyle Cos. President Steve O’Kane is retiring this month, and Randy Swart was named chief operating officer to lead the less-than-truckload operation.
The company, based in West Chester, Pa., said in a Jan. 7 statement that the retirement of O’Kane, who has been with Pyle since 2006, is part of the company’s long-term succession planning and execution.
O’Kane has been president of the carrier for eight years. He joined Pyle after 20 years at New Penn Motor Express, including four years as president of that company, which is part of YRC Worldwide Inc.
“The Pyle team is indebted to Steve for the outstanding contribution he has made to our family business during these last eight years,” said Peter Latta, chairman and CEO of Pyle.
O’Kane will remain connected with Pyle as a board member.
Pyle’s statement said Keary Mueller will continue as chief operating officer of its Customized Solutions Group that includes truckload, brokerage and warehousing. Pyle will not name a new president.
Pyle is ranked No. 85 on the Transport Topics Top 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
