Stoneridge Fills New Chief Technology Officer Post

Commercial vehicle supplier Stoneridge Inc. appointed Laurent Borne chief technology officer, a newly created position.

Most recently, he was vice president of product development for the global dishwasher platform at Whirlpool Corp.



While at Whirlpool, Borne worked on the development and deployment of Whirlpool’s Internet of Things, the prototype of their global engineering system, and a statistical approach for product failures and quality.

“His extensive expertise in the transformation of engineering, innovation and manufacturing processes will prove to be of great value to our customers as we meet their needs globally,” Stoneridge CEO Jon DeGaynor said.

In addition to sensors, switches, actuators and other components for medium- and heavy-duty trucks, the Novi, Mich.-based company makes the MirrorEye camera monitoring system, intended to replace truck mirrors.
