Truck, Parts Makers Report Stronger Growth

n a wave of strong earnings reports, makers of trucks and truck equipment said growing demand has made them optimistic about prospects for the second half of 2003 and for next year.

The latest round of quarterly financial statements, along with signs the national economy is starting to revive, indicated that trucking companies are buying because they expect business to keep growing.

The recent gains came in various segments of the industry — from truck builders to engine and trailer manufacturers as well as component suppliers.
