Survey Shows Truckers Plan to Avoid Tolled I-81

img src="/sites/default/files/images/articles/printeditiontag_new.gif" width=120 align=right>A recent survey by the Virginia Trucking Association of its members and their customers showed that trucking companies would try to avoid Interstate 81 if tolls were imposed on the highway.

The survey of 59 trucking companies and shippers showed that 95% would use routes other than I-81 where possible.

"It's not surprising that a lot of trucking companies would try to avoid the tolls," said Darrin Roth, director of highway operations for American Trucking Associations. "It's a little surprising to me that it’s as high a percentage of companies."
