Sutton Transport entered into an agreement Oct. 20 to purchase the less-than-truckload division of CRH Transportation.
The acquisition is set to close Dec. 3. Sutton Transport said the acquisition helps advance its objective of expanding direct coverage to all major markets throughout the Midwest. The acquisition also is its largest to date.
Sutton Transport will fold the acquired division into its own operations. Former CRH General Manager Kyle Hathman will stay as a director of operations. He will be responsible for overseeing the terminals located across Missouri and Highland, Ill.
Sutton Transport, which is family-owned, has been operating for more than 40 years. The Weston, Wis., company is best known for its regional less-than-truckload service. It also offers nationwide volume LTL, truckload and logistics services and operates out of 13 terminals. — Transport Topics
