Sutton Transport Acquires E F Express

Sutton Transport Inc. announced June 24 that it has entered into an agreement to purchase E F Express.
Highland, Ill.-based E F Express provides less-than-truckload services. Sutton Transport, headquartered in Weston, Wis., has already partnered with the company for several years to provide service in southern Illinois and the St. Louis metro area. The acquisition is expected to close June 30.
Sutton Transport said its corporate objective is to expand its direct coverage to all major markets throughout the Midwest. The acquisition of E F Express brings the company a step closer to accomplishing that goal. Sutton Transport currently has eight terminals, located in Wausau, Wis.; Oshkosh, Wis.; Milwaukee; Madison, Wis.; Tomah, Wis.; Chicago; Minneapolis and St. Louis.
E F Express will operate under the Sutton name and authority beginning July 1. Its former owner, Brant Frey, will stay on board to continue running operations and help grow the business moving forward. — Transport Topics
