Executives from Swift Transportation Co., scheduled to make a presentation at a Las Vegas conference, were forced to cancel due to record floods in Phoenix, where the company is based.

Late Monday, heavy rains flooded major freeways and small roads in Phoenix, setting an all-time record for rainfall in the city in a single day, The Associated Press reported.

The National Weather Service recorded 2.99 inches of rain by about 7 a.m. Monday, breaking the old record of 2.91 inches set in 1933, according to AP.

The executives were to present at the RBC Capital Markets’ Industrial Conference on Sept. 10 in Las Vegas.

Swift employees are safe, but they are tending to their homes, which have been severely affected by the flooding, according to the carrier.

Swift ranks No. 6 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
