Swift Names Richard Stocking President and COO

Swift Corp. said that Richard Stocking has been promoted to president and chief operating officer of its truckload carrier Swift Transportation Co., effective immediately.

Stocking joined Swift 17 years ago and served in various operations roles before moving into operations and sales management positions, the company said in a statement late Friday.

In the past five years, he has held a variety of operational positions in the company’s central region.

Jerry Moyes will continue as chief executive officer of Swift Transportation Co. and will remain chairman and CEO of Swift Corp.

Swift Transportation Co. is ranked No. 10 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
