Swift, Payless Partner on Employee Footwear Discount
Truckload carrier Swift Transportation Co. announced a partnership with SafeTstep, a brand of Payless Shoe Source, as a means of increasing its employee benefits.
Through this partnership, Swift employees will receive discounts to purchase SafeTstep’s slip-resistant footwear at more than 3,000 Payless retail stores or online, the Phoenix-based company said. In addition, employees will receive a similar discount for Payless’ Dexter Work footwear line.
“As the business-to-business arm of Payless Shoe Source, SafeTstep is committed to partnering with companies like Swift that put a high value on a culture of safety in the workplace," Mike Vitelli, chief operating officer for Payless Shoe Source, said in a statement. “Corporate footwear programs and SafeTstep by Payless are the perfect fit for companies looking to keep employees safe and help prevent accidents related to slips, trips and falls in the workplace.”
Its partnership with Payless Shoe Source is one of many it plans to roll out in 2017, according to Swift. The company has been seeking more strategic partners that provide better products, services and events to its drivers, maintenance technicians and office personnel.
“We do have many strategic partnerships in place with several companies, however, this is one of the few I’m aware of with a brand that isn’t already an existing vendor of Swift,” Cozette Phifer, Swift’s vice president of marketing and communications, told Transport Topics.
Swift Transportation ranks No. 7 on TT’s Top 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in North America.
