Energy executive T. Boone Pickens will be the keynote speaker at American Trucking Associations’ Natural Gas in Trucking Summit in November, ATA said Wednesday.
Pickens, Chairman and CEO of BP Capital, which operates energy-focused commodity and equity funds, will discuss the future of natural gas in a session called “The Transformation of America’s Energy Future.”
Pickens has been a proponent of expanded use of natural gas for the trucking industry.
“We are thrilled to have Mr. Pickens’ share his views on natural gas,” ATA President Bill Graves said, calling him “a true pioneer in the energy field.”
ATA announced the natural gas summit last month. It will be held Nov. 28-30 in Arlington, Va.
Registration is now open to ATA members and general registration will begin on Aug. 1, the group said.
ATA also announced the summit’s first three major corporate sponsors: Clean Energy Fuels Corp., Freightliner Trucks and TravelCenters of America.
